My approach to design must always start with the 7 principles of design: balance, unity, rhythm, scale and proportion, contrast, emphasis and details. Always keeping these principles in mind, we begin unpack the client’s needs and desires and plug them into a cohesive plan that meet .
I am always, always an Interior Designer, it never leaves me. Every environment, every vacation, every hotel and restaurant, everywhere I go I see possibilities and ideas that I can incorporate into someone's home. I am always gathering little snippets of ideas that may some day show up in someone's home.
What do you believe sets you apart from other interior designers in the industry?
I think I have a unique approach to not just design but also how I treat my clients. I have a very fair approach to fees and commissions and clients really appreciate my openness and integrity. Another thing that sets me apart from other designers is that although I am very creative and an artist, I have a very practical approach to this profession. I am down to earth and I listen to my clients.
How do you balance your creative instincts with the practical needs of your clients?
I am good at learning my client’s practical needs and I always begin with that. Once I win their trust, I go into full gear with lots of creative ideas. My role is to exceed the expectations of each and every client and present them with viable concepts that surprise and delight them - things they would not have ever thought of on their own. I am also able to troubleshoot and explain little details and alterations to the plan as things come up during construction.
I want to live in a well designed and beautiful space and I want that for others as well. When we live well in a space that reflects who we are, we feel peaceful, happy and content. Our lives are busy with a lot of information and energy coming at us. I like to uncover and create a calm energy, whatever that is for you, it is essential. It is my happiness to do so for myself, my family and my clients. My passion for good design sustains me and I try to impart that positive energy on each space that I design.

Once we were able to purchase our own home, my focus on all-things-artistic, shifted to Interior Design. This felt like a very natural progression to an Interior Design career that now spans over 25 years. I take my principles of design and shape them into each client's particular taste. My basic design philosophy is always the same as far as form and function but the cover changes and evolves based on each client.
10 of my 25 years as an Interior Designer have been in the Bay Area. I am formerly from New York and upon moving to CA, I discovered a slightly different aesthetic which reflects the way my clients like to live on the west coast. I love it! I recognize, more than ever, the importance of a well designed home for us all - a place to live and work and
